Currently, there are more than  4 lakh+ Telugu speakers in the USA.

The Telugu's have been living in the USA since the 1950's.

But the process of migration speed up after the 1990's when the demand for engineers soared under the rapid growth of the IT sector in the US.

Most of these engineers came from Hyderabad, where Telugu is spoken.

Gradually, the Telugus migrated the the US, became highly successful and gained citizenship.

These Telugu- Americans decided to hire more Telugu engineers from India in their companies.

In fact, there has been research on this topic, suggesting how the Telugu's are persuing an American Dream. 

They want to follow in the footsteps of people like Satya Nadella. 

In case you dont know, Satya Nadella is the CEO of Microsoft.

The American Dream matters so much to the Telugusthat you will find temples dedicated to worship for visa clearance.
