We have our Tea from road-side stalls but what if I told you that some people are willing to pay more for an exclusive tea than they would for Gold? China was the birthplace of Tea and today still China accounts for more than 35% of the total world tea consumption and its no surprise that the most expensive tea also come from China. But why is it so expensive that it costs 20 times more than gold. The reason is its scarcity this high quality tea called Da Hong Pao comes from a rare type of trees in China called Mothers Trees said to be thousands of years old only six of those original trees still exist because of which its been designated a national treasure and its harvesting has been banned since 2006 so they can be studied and if you wanted to buy one kg of this delicate tea you will need to pay between USD $ 250,000
