 Do you know that there is a lake in Denmark that looks like the world map?

Spread over 4,000 sq meters, made out of map and stones, an actual world Map!

The name of the lake is KLEJTRUP, and when you walk around it, you will see the flags of all the countries. This entire thing has been made by just one farmer – SOREN POULSEN, A Danish Farmer. He got the idea for this in 1943 and it took 25 years to complete. But the process was simple- when the lake was frozen, he used to place the rocks in the shape of continents. When summer come, the ice used to melt and these rocks sank and settled in the lake. After doing this repeatedly for years these rocks accumulated on top each other in the same shape and this beautiful thing was formed. 

This map was completed in 1969 but many nations were born after that like Montenegro in 2006 and south Sudan in 2011.

There is a team of this park that updates this map every year as and when new nations are formed.
