When P M Murugesan from Tamilnadu India dropped out of school to help his father on the farms, he had tones of banana waste to be disposed of every day. While some chose to dump or burn it, Murugesan decided to make money out of it. He developed a machine that could convert banana waste into ropes and tuned them into mats, bags, baskets, etc...

Today, he helps 350+ women earn a livelihood by employing them.

These products made from banana waste are loved and exported to the UK, the Netherlands, Singapore, France and Malaysia.
